1999 McCarty Soapbar – Trans Red - PRS guitars have come a long way since there humble beginnings. The best sounding soapbar guitar on the planet. Using special pickups designed and voiced by Seymour Duncan to the specs of our R&D department. Some soapbars compromise strength to achieve certain goals; these pickups do not. They aren’t humbuckers, but they sure sound good, with definition, robustness and thick punch of the original soapbar single coils that defined the sound of both rock and roll and combo jazz guitar in the ‘50s and ‘60s. Our example uses a solid mahogany body rather than the maple topped, two piece version being produced today providing rich resonance and sustain.
